Stupid cooking question
I've wanted to try those services but now isn't a good time financially. Good to know that it works well for those of us that have had RNY though! I have wondered about that. It's just me and my DH but he needs leftovers to pack for lunch so he really likes when we have a "normal" size meal if we both like it.
I do my MFP recipes 1 of 2 ways-
If it's more of a liquid consistency (soup, chili, etc) I scoop it into another container for storage and count how many ladles it takes to empty the dish. I know that my ladle is .75 cup, so my pot of chili might be about 14 ladles worth. On MFP I say that its 14 servings, that way 1 ladle = 1 serving.
If it's a more solid consistency (like the eggroll filling I made the other day) then I will weigh the entire batch in ounces. For example, we can say that the batch is 50oz. I will put it into MFP as 50 servings. When I go to have some, I just weigh how many oz I am putting onto my plate/bowl and that is the # of servings I am eating. This helps in my family because I will have 5 servings (5oz) of something while my hubby will have 10oz or 10 servings. He's also tracking his foods, so this lets us both customize and accurately track how much we're eating.
Stick with cooking! You'll get more used to it as you go!
