Just starting out!

Hi I am new to all of this.  I just had my first appt with a nutritional therapist last week and I have 5 more monthly appts to go with her before I see the surgeon.  I am soooo excited to go through this process and get to have the surgery but I am so scared that my insurance will deny me for whatever reason or something will happen where I can't have the surgery (this has happened to me twice before, 12 yrs ago and 10 yrs ago).  I feel like this is my last chance to save myself from a shortened life span and misery!

Make sure surgery is a covered benefit then request the specific guidelines that must be completed prior to surgery approval.  If you have questions make sure you ask and make sure you clearly understand the requirements. Good luck!

Just make sure your insurance covers it and then jump thru all their hoops. At that point as long as the surgeon, nutritionist and therapist all approve it you will be good to go. There was a lot that I needed to do but I just took each thing one at a time and that worked for me. I think now days they pretty much know if you will be arroved or not at your very first appointment. Good luck!
