Hi all!

I had gastric bypass 4/24/13 weighing 377.5 lbs and was a little on the shorter side at 5'4". So my BMI was quite high.  About 8 months ago I reached 165 lbs and have not been able to budge passed that.  I am strict for the most part on my diet and still have an amazing routine.  But for whatever reason my body said no more.  I had a huge abundance of skin and fat and my belly.  The fat was not connected to muscle so a plastic surgeon said I was the perfect candidate for surgery.  :)

I have anthem and they covered the panniculectomy and my surgeon did a fluer-de-lis incision which would also remove the upper belly skin and fat.  He wanted me to be happy and knew I wouldn't with the panni alone.  As an added bonus, my incision goes pretty far around to my back and now my back is MUCH smoother!!!  He also moved my belly button and pulled up the kitty area for nothing additional. I'm very thankful!

My surgery was on Thursday, August 27th, and the first few days were the worst.  I was an impatient for two nights but have been home and it's been going quite well!  Liking what I see in the mirror helps with the pain lol!!!!

I have pics in my profile for all who want to see!   :)

Me too!  I actually had my big procedure - a lower body lift, tummy tuck, and male chest reconstruction - back in November but this past Friday I had some minor revisions to things that he couldn't get to at the time.

Good for you!!!!!  I bet you also feel a lot better then you did before.  It hurts, but every time I go to the bathroom I can't help but just look in amazement at myself!

I'm very happy with the results; however, at this very moment I'm back in my old compassion garments to help with swelling which is a somewhat uncomfortable feeling/memory.  :)

But yes, it's awesome.

My doctors did tell me the compression garment could be a part of life for the next year and perhaps 18 months.  Seems crazy to swell that long!  But it will be worth it!

Wow-- amazing!!! So you were 165 before surgery, how much are you now without the excess skin?

I'm glad they covered the panni--and the surgeon seems like he went out of his way to make sure you were satisfied!
