I NEVER wore dresses until I lost the weight.  Now my closet is FULL of cute, little dresses!

In the bad old days, most of my pants were pretty tight, as you can imagine. After losing weight for a while they got pretty loose. So loose that a pair of underwear got static clinged inside one pant leg, and I didn't realize it. Well, they worked their way out while walking around the store. Plop, right in the middle of the aisle.

OK note to self get rid of old undies!!! Thank you for sharing (REALLY) for some reason it is hard for me to part with my comfy undies. Even typing this I am tearing up. Not sure what the issues are...........I have been emotional about some of my clothing and parting ways with that security sweater. And after reading this wondering how I passed the physic part of the process LOL.

I think you are rocking you're weight loss and the advice I have the hardest time following is "patience grasshopper".  I have never been the fastest loser, I am 21 months out of rny ( was 11-26-13) and I went from 369 to 171 as of today.  I went from size 34 catalog, I couldnt shop for clothes locally. Today I wear a size large top, size 12 or 13 jeans depending on manufacturer.  What used to bug me the most was my bra size back then.  54 F. I didn't have boobs I had cantaloupes that were in dire need of restraint LOL. I just bought a 36 b last week, padded b mind you but still a b cup. It will happen for you also, trust me.  I have always been odd, when I wasnt dropping pounds it started to be inches lost, is that way to date. I look at it this way, I didn't put on my weight over night and it hasn't come off over night, that's for sure.  I just keep putting along .  Never be upset going down a size!  I would smile and go out and buy a few clearance tops/ sweaters, whatever you need and celebrate your success.  Keep up the great job

I hear ya! One thing I noticed after surgery was how tight my everyday clothes must have been. I thought I'd drop a size immediately, but they just started to fit as they were meant to! I should have been in a 26 pants but refused to buy more than one pair... Squeezed my but into my 24's LOL. I was disappointed when I didn't drop to 22 right away... But I'd been lying to myself for a good while about size. I'm in a size 20, heading to an 18.

I can still wear a lot of my bigger clothes, and do so for the sake of not spending lots in the interim.

Right on, Peachpie!! I had no idea that my size 24s were stretched beyond belief and weren't intended to be worn the way I was wearing them...like a second skin! There is so much more space between plus sizes than regular sizes.

Mute, just keep plugging away and it will happen. And soon you'll be facing the overwhelming prospect of shopping in regular stores where there are too many choices! I had a hard time making that adjustment and wanting to veer into the plus size department where the minimal choices were easier. This is an ongoing journey and just be prepared...things you thought were going to easy about it can be bigger than you think!

So you're probably right about that. I was wearing 24's as well and 3x's but refused to but anything larger. Mainly because most stores didn't carry those and I refused to have to buy anything larger in other specialty stores beyond what I was already shopping in. And the tops were definitely tight in certain areas.

With a new season coming up maybe I need to re-visit my closet and see if I have any other clothes that I can actually wear. The summer stuff was ridiculously too big and looked horrible but I might have some fall stuff that may work for a while longer.
