How soon post op should I start mitral ax?

I am 4 days post op when should I start adding miralax to my water?

I only take it as needed. But I also took docolax everyday I was taking pain medication because constipation is a side effect of pain medication and that is what my surgeon told me to do.

You should ask your doctor. I started liquid colace as soon as I went home and still got horribly constipated. After a bowel impaction at day 10, they added miralax.

I started using Miralax after one week. It really, really helped. If you're nervous, ask your doctor. *hugs*

I didn't have normal bowel movements for a few weeks. I was on liquid then soft for 3 weeks or so. Liquid in=liquid out.
