"Only" overweight!

I'm celebrating today! My BMI is under 30 so I'm *just* overweight now, and I'm also now at my lowest ever post-puberty weight. My starting BMI was just over 50 -- officially "super-morbidly obese" -- so I'm pretty thrilled to have lost over 20 BMI points. It's amazing (yet perfectly logical) how the scale started moving faster again once I gave up my gum habit!
That's AWESOME - congratulations!
What part of the gum habit was causing you to stall? Was it the calories/sugar in gum or something else?
Asking because my DH is asking me to get him some gum to help with his cigarette and (food) chewing cravings he's having...

I started with sugar free gum, but even 5 calories a stick adds up quickly when you chew 3-4 15-stick packs a day. Then the Xylitol started giving me GI distress, so I started getting regular Double Bubble from the gift shop at wor****il one day I realized I had 75g of sugar just in gum!
Got'cha! Thanks for sharing! I used to be a gum chewer until I started having TMJ issues - ugh.
Hopefully the hubby will be fine losing weight with sugar-free gum then since he's not a WLS patient! :)

Congratulations!! You should be very proud!
Can I ask what the gum habit is? I recently started chewing gum... and its uncontrollable - at least 2 pieces at a time, and when I chew it I joke about how I have become a "gum addict." I chew only sugar free. My weight has not been moving very much lately, however, I chalked that up to being almost at goal!?
Thanks in advance.

See my reply above -- I started with sugar-free but moved on. Kind of backwards I guess, like getting addicted to nicotine gum then picking up smoking.
