3Bassethounds,

Happy Tuesday to you! Hope you are having a good week so far. I have a question for you. How long does it take to get to goal weight? I'm 8 months out so far and get so impatient if you know what I mean. Thanks for the help.

I am not sure how long it takes. I am almost two years out and I still want to lose about 25 to 30 pounds. I am not going to make excuses why I haven't gotten to my goal. I could say it is from going through menopause and other things as I get older. Honestly it is because I have been eating to many calories.

I have made sure I am following my plan. Using my fitness pal. Stopped having the glass or two of wine. Follow your plan eat protein first and limit your bad carbs.

There are a lot of people who have made goal in less than a year. Make good food choices.

Best wishes to you. There are a lot of vets here who can help you with questions. Asking them is a good thing.

Thanks so much! Im just not sure how far I want to go. You have done so well and I have a lot of respect for you. Im happy because I see my surgeon in October so I'm sure she will give me an answer on that. Have a great day and thanks again for your help.

You are doing fantastic. I know you want to see that goal number pop up. It does happen but there is no set day or even month. So much depends on how well you follow your plan, your body chemistry, exercise level, and too many variables to mention. To be so close at eight months is great. Also remember goal weight is not the end. Maintenance is hard. There are many posts about regaining. So stay true to course and you will be where you want to be and stay there.

Karen,

thanks so much! Yes it sounds like maintaining is tough! I can only pray that I've got what it takes. Coming here is a life saver. Have a great week.
