Losing weight slowly

My surgery was on July 13th and I have only lost so far 26 pounds, I feel that I'm losing weight so slowly compared to other. Based on your experience do you think I'm doing ok??

I'm on pureed diet still and I eat really small portions the only struggle I'm having is that I'm not drinking 2 liters of water daily I hardly can drink 1 and I'm working on this to increase the intake.

I have only lost 30 pounds since surgery, and mine was 10 weeks ago.  I lost the first two weeks, then stalled for 5 weeks.  I have just started chugging along the loser path for the last few weeks and it has been slow.  Just be focused and stay on it.  When you can, start moving, and make sure you are getting lots of water.  Water helps your body burn fat.  Just keep sipping sipping sipping.  Get an app that reminds you to drink water too.  That helped me.  I am up to a gallon a day now.  Follow your plan.  You are doing really well.  Don't compare to others and just focus on you.  And be proud!!!  You are doing great!

My surgery date was 7/31. So far, all together, I have lost about 22 pounds. Not a bunch. I figure we are all different. I am older than most, at 66. That may slow things down also did not do my walking for about  a week, due to being house bound with struggling bowels. Over the long run, I know I will keep loosing. If it is at this same rate, it will still be way better over time than what I have accomplished over the past decades. Best wishes to all.

Hey Girl,

    By my calculations you have an average of 5 pounds a week for the last 5 weeks. You are doing great!  I think everyone feels this way, like it should be more weight and faster but your body does what it is going to do.  We can help it by getting our protein and water in and then it will happen.  I lost 21 lbs in the first 3 weeks which was awesome then for the last 5 weeks it's been between 1-3 lbs a week which feels super slow!  So I get you, it's frustrating but stay the course it will work.  Just like other's have mentioned there are so many factors, did you lose a weight before surgery? How much do you have to lose? How tall are you, what is your bmi?  How much are you walking/exercise?  You don't need to answer these questions it's just there are so many factors on how fast we lose.  When I did my 1 month check up I was down 25lbs from the surgery date and my Dr. said that was really good. She said they expected 8-10lbs a month.  So you are doing great.  

Again I understand, I am only down 9lbs this second month, so frustrating but I am trying to keep all these things in mind, I lost a lot my first month, I had a lot of stress (family death) and I just returned to work, Oh and I've dealt with having my period every other week since surgery. But I know I have been sticking to the plan protein and water.  I do my best to read other people's blogs, look at their profiles, look on youtube.  What I have gathered so far is that the people who are the most successful are very strict with their program.  There is a user here, Iloveravens she has made an amazing transformation and I asked her how she was so successful and she said she sticks to the diet.  So stay the course, it will happen!

Thanks thats the frustrating part that I've stick to the diet 100% even eating less that what I have but I'll stop thinking about it ( my psychologist said stress is a factor to stop losing weight)

I was told by my surgeon that a pound a day can be lost the first month and 0.5 pounds the second month.. but that is the best case scenario.   I think your weight loss is moving along nicely.

im 8 weeks out and I avg about 5lb a week
