Nausea
I am five weeks out from surgery and I feel nauseated all the time. I have contacted my Dr. and he does not seem to think anything is wrong. This is driving me crazy as I do not want to eat or drink. Could this be from lack of vitamins (B12, multi, calcium)? I also still have my G tube in until next week, could the G tube be a cause of the nausea? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am so frustrated with this nausea.
Are you hydrated? Dehydration can cause very bad nausea. Try to change up the temp of your fluids sometimes warm herbal tea helped me when i was feeling sick.
Ar you on a PPI? Again too much acid amy cause you to feel sick. What happens when you actually eat something? Are you maybe lactose intolerant since surgery? Could be lots of things. Hope you figure it out soon cause it's a drag to feel so terrible this early out!
Are you drinking enough liquids? The only time I was nauseated after surgery was when I was dehydrated. Try to drink a ton today and see if it helps?

First make sure you're getting your fluids. Dehydration is VERY real with WLS. Keep a water bottle in your hand all the .time and empty at least five of them a day. If you continue to feel nauseous, you might need an IV to top yourself off.
Secondly, use some OTC Prilosec daily. My surgeon had me use it once a day, with early morning meds, If you're leery of using the Prilosec, consult your surgeon.

The most likely suspects would be dehydration and acid reflux. Make sure you're getting in at least 64 oz. of fluids, and talk to your doc about starting a PPI. Mine puts everyone on Pepcid for 3 months after surgery just as a preventive. Also, did they give you a script for Zofran? It worked wonders for me with GERD-related nausea before surgery.
