Teeth???
I read a study not too long ago about oral health in post RNY patients. The study concluded that there is evidence of increased dental issues in post-RNY patients. However, the reasons for the increase in issues were all behavior related. Specifically, for those RNY patients that depended primarily on carbs in their diets, the incidence of increased poor oral health was higher. So, another reason to follow your physician's menu plan post rny.

Interesting you posted this Chelly, I am just shy of 21 months post op and in the last 2-3 months I have noticed a lot of teeth sensitivity. Pre surgery I had great check ups at the Dentist, no problems, no cavities, I brush and floss daily and never had an issues. Now a few of my front teeth are very sensitive. I personally think its all the fake sweeteners since I avoid sugar. I am trying not to eat any sugar substitutes to see if it makes a difference and I got Sensodyne toothpaste, its a bit better but not like before surgery. I have an appt with my MD in September and I see my Centre in November for my two year post op check up so I will for sure be asking about this.
Good luck,
Daisy
