Good Morning!  How was everyone's weekend?  We managed to extract 168 lbs of honey from the boards that were capped.  That's not as much as we were hoping for...the weather really did a number on the bees and their foraging.  We're hoping that the hives that were really active are able to draw more comb so we can do another extraction in the fall.  Even so, the honey we did get looks really good.  I can't tell you how it tastes because honey's gross.  LMAO  But my husband and son love it.  Speaking of my son, I dropped him off at camp yesterday; his first ever sleepaway.  *sniff*  In fact, he's never not had at least one of us with him overnight; he's never spent the night at a grandparents or anything.  I thought he would be a little apprehensive, but he could not have wanted me there less.  LOL  He didn't want me to carry anything or even go into the cabin to set him up.  He was like, "Mom, you can leave now."  LOL  I hope he's having a blast.

That is really cool about the honey. I think honey is one of the grosses things on earth. I have never liked it. I had a good weekend. I really didn't do much. My husband went sailing I stayed home to weed the flower beds and chill. Sunday we took the top off of my jeep and went cruising around went and had lunch and husband had a few beers. I am not drinking for a while. It totally stopped my weight loss well it was part of the culprit.

I think it is great that your son went off to camp and was excited. I am sure he is having the time of his life. I know how hard it is letting them go. My daughter goes back to school in less than two weeks. Summer goes by way too fast. I do enjoy the time with just my husband and I .

B: Ricotta and egg white pancakes with a piece of ham

L:Salad with steack

D:Salmon on the grill

S:Yogurt with some strawberries

Vitamins are in for the morning coffee is going down.

Have a good day.

Back to reality after my week off. It was nice being away from work and spending time with my family but the first Monday back always stinks.

Random Question--I tried cabbage last night for the first time and it was brutal on my system. Has anyone else had an extreme reaction from a veggie? It was cooked at home so I know it didn't have any hidden sugar.

B-mini sausage

S-string cheese

L-?

S-grapefruit

D-left over ham

When did you have your surgery? I think the gas factor with the cabbage could be the culprit. I know I ate too much broccoli the one night and my pouch was not happy.  Check the glycemic scale for carbs in veggies.

Surgery was almost 4 months ago. I had awful bloating with brussel sprouts but nothing like this. I'll definitely look up the scale for cabbage. Thanks!

Just think 168 pounds of honey is 20 pounds more than what you lost.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I had a quiet weekend. Did my usual weekend sleeping in and caught up on housework. The DH and I did another round of purging our house of bad foods. We're both recovering food addicts, and shared what our foods we would eat in secret and hide from each other are. For him it was the peanut butter and honey - so we threw both of those out.  For me, I said there's still some chocolate chip morsels that are closed but I think about cheating and binging on them... so we threw them all out!  That, alongside a lot of uncooked pasta noodles, sauces full of sugar, etc.  It felt really good!  Now, even actively trying to think: "I want to cheat and eat something bad" there is literally no guilty food in my house. Sure, I guess I could eat too much of something (like cheese) but there's no independently 'bad' foods.

Another NSV from this weekend is that I finally exercised! My "Walk Away the Pounds" with Leslie Sansone DVD arrived last week and on Saturday I finally popped it in and did the 18-minute 'Get up and Move" one mile walk.  I made it to about the 3/4 mile point when I had to sit down. I was about to admit defeat when she announced that it was time to start the cool-down... so I pushed myself and got back up for it. It was an emotional experience for me. The best part was how unexpectedly GOOD I felt afterwards!  I told myself I would aim to do this 7 days/week but be OK with 5 days/week.  I did it again Sunday, so I am 2/2 days so far!

Anyway, i'm sure y'all have noticed how much I can just blabber on and on... menu time!

That is great that you and your husband are working together to get healthy. Throwing away food was hard at first. I kept telling myself that I am not a human trash can.

Good morning,

AV your son will do great, sounds like he was ready.  You will be fine too!

Had a busy weekend, school shopping on Saturday with my daughter, she goes back on the 27th.  They got out so late this year because of all the snow days, it seems like she hardly had a summer.  She better finish up all her summer reading quickly!

Had a great time yesterday with my high school girlfriends, 5 of us met for breakfast and laughter.

NSV and SV -   Went shopping afterwards at Marshalls, bought two new blouses for work size, wait for it.... Size Large!!  I haven't worn a size L since probably 1988. I did a little happy dance in the dressing room.  Weight was 190.8 this morning, now down 51 lbs since surgery, 77 since first consultation.

Time since surgery 3.5 months

B:  Premier Protein chocolate shake

L:  Homemade chicken and veggie soup

S:  Nectarine

D:  ?  Probably soup again, I had it for dinner last night too, yucky summer cold.
