Peach Slush Recipe

2 Fresh Peaches

1/8 cup Water 1 tsp.

Fresh Lime Juice Instructions:

1. Peel peaches by pouring boiling water over the peaches for 30 sec. or peel with a paring knife.

2. Chop peaches into chunks and put in a blender or food processor.

3. Add Water and Lime Juice and blend until smooth in consistency.

4. Pour into a 9x13 pan and freeze in freezer for one to two hours.

5. Stir a few times so that it does not freeze into a solid block.

6. Stir and whip it up with a fork so it has a nice slushy consistency.

7. Serve immediately in a cold dish. 8. Makes 2 smaller servings.

It does sound yummy but no protein and I know on my initial plan about the only fruit I could have was a little unsweetened applesauce. At your stage maybe a spoonful or two.

I would not have been permitted that -- as the previous poster stated it high in sugar and no protein.

I just found my notes.. I am allowed occasionally a small portion of fresh fruit with no skin pureed..  I might have to cut it in half and do one peach and freeze it in ice cube trays.. have one now and then

I would save this for after you have lost your weight rather than wasting your valuable honeymoon period on non-protein sugar foods.

Just an FYI.  The body sees fruit as sugar and will use it the same way it uses a candy bar.  Eating too much fruit during your weight loss phase will slow or stop your weight loss.  Limit, or even eliminate, fruit until you reach your goal weight.  Your focus needs to be protein first and then veggies if you have room.  You are taking vitamins to make up the nutritional loss from the small stomach. You need to use the valuable space in your pouch for protein.

Frankly, no, it's not okay.

Like the others have stated, you need to focus on protein first. I'm two years out and don't even bother with fruit. My body sees it as sugar and acts accordingly ( dump city ).

Nope.  Peaches are SUPER high in sugar.  Even as fruit goes.  This sounds yummy, but i would save it for a once in a blue moon recipe after you get to goal and are in maintenance.

I don't care if your doctor and nut say fruit is OK this early.  It's not.  It's a waste of valuable malabsorption time and way too much sugar.

We have tons of proof on this board that many surgeons and nutritionists do not have our best interests at heart.

Yes to what everyone else has said. I'm 7 weeks post op and have stayed away from fruits/carbs entirely ( besides once with a few blueberries in a ricotta bake).

Like another wise poster said, the more sugar you eat, the more you will want. Steer clear, and good luck with everything!
