Trying hard to stay on program
I'm on vacation this week with the family. Asides from struggling with the time change, I'm really trying to stay on program. We're in Vegas, food and drinks are abundant. (I'm not a drinker, so that nut am issue)
My hubby insisted on a buffet, personally I didn't think it was worth it since our kids are so picky. I arranged my plate to include four meat proteins, two veggies and two carbs. My goal was to take a bite from each, not to clean my plate. I did, but admit I enjoyed the prime rib so much that is mostly what I ate. I did indulge in dessert, but they were portioned in little shooters that were smaller than shot glasses. I've still been sticking to my no drinking 30 min. before or after... Which has been hard in this heat, but doable.
I brought workout clothes, but who was I kidding... A) it's too hot and b) I made 16,000 steps yesterday and that didn't include swimming!
3 more days... Hope the scale doesn't hate me when I get home!

Vacation is hard. I just got back from one. The biggest mistake I made was ordering at a restaurant without checking the nutrition facts online first. I checked them after the fact and realized I choose the worst item out of the things I was considering. It feels like such a dumb mistake. Be careful of sauces. They can be loaded with hidden carbs.
