PatchMD is Bunk

Folks, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I ordered these patches and they are complete bunk.  According to their label they contain over 3,200 mg (3 grams) of various vitamins and minerals in each patch.  However, my initial reaction when I opened the package was how small and thin they are so I put them on my food scale.  Each patch weighs less than 1 gram.  An entire sheet of 6 patches only registered 2 grams.

A patch can't contain 3 grams of vitamins and weigh less than 1 gram.  A sheet can't contain over 20 grams of vitamins and weigh only 2 grams.  It's impossible.

These products are a fraud. I caution everyone that using them is the same as stopping your vitamins.  You may get away with it for a while but it'll catch up with you.

Sorry.  I had high hopes.  :(

Darn. I have been looking at these patches and hoping for a solution so I didn't have to take all these vitamins. But I don't want to jeopardize my nutrition so will keep an eye on these but not start them. Thanks for info. S

UPDATE!

I emailed PatchMD and this was their response:

we use nano technology that allows us to reduce the molecular weight of the ingredients

That is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard.  I implore all of you to stay away from these products.  Really.  Please.

I'm not critiquing the principle of a patch (although doing it for two dozen compounds all with different molecular weights, etc, versus a single medication sounds wildly difficult).

I'm saying that you cannot even in principle have 3 grams of vitamins in a 1 gram bucket.

There is yet another magic protein powder on here someone was pushing. It has .02 calories and 25 grams of protein. They have protein tablets too. It's at least the second brand I've seen that make these ludicrous claims. This one was Humapro. I think the last one was Genepro.

I've actually called their toll-free number several times.  First, it's a generic answering service.  Second, it goes straight to voicemail when you press 0.

Just doesn't seem like a real/reputable company.

I thought a phone call would be more reliable but I did just fire them off an email.

I think it has to do with when it is liquidfied and put onto the patch the weights change.  It takes a lot more solid vitamins to get the same amount into liquid vitamins.  Maybe that is the case.  I am using them, and some people have shown good labs with using them.  I wouldn't call it "bunk" but it is definitely something to check out.  I will be emailing the company to find out myself.
