It certainly looks like I'm some kind of homesteader, but I'm telling you, I am fancy!  LOL

I believe it - trust me, I live around plenty of city folk who are NOT fancy, so I have no doubt there are country folk who are!  Plus I have seen your super cute pics of you and your adorable son :)

No hunting or fishing for me but I live in Los Angeles and there really is no opportunity. A question for you all. For those who have increased calories and/or carbs did you notice a weight gain or did your loss stay steady?  My surgeon, primary care and dietician all got together and decided I needed to increase calories and carbs. Four days into the "experiment" and it's a failure. I'm 3 lbs up from my lowest weight and hungry ALL THE TIME. I've been a very compliant patient, but may need to draw the line. Here's my increased menu:

B: overnight oats

L: chicken thigh and edamame

D: pork chop, roasted veggies and watermelon

S: somersaults/apricot/kind bar/ light and fit

Totals: 1198, protein 93g, fats 53g carbs 83g

Hi Stacy

i have been in maintenance for almost 3 months and my doctor and NUT told me to increase my calories 100 every week and see what happened to my weight....I went from 950 to 1400/1500 and am still maintaining....and I am not a big excerciser.....I think I will stick to 1400/1500 as I feel comfortable and satiated at this level.

i wonder if the RNY alters our metabolic rate....I thought I was going to have to stick at about 1000/1200.

Boy this is some journey isn't it!!

Good morning everyone!  Hope you all have a great Tuesday!  I'm starting to get nervous about my consult with the surgeon next week; I think I'm starting to over think everything.

Answer to question of the day:  Yes, I hunt and fish.  I was raised in a rural area, between my mom and stepdad there were 7 kids to feed so we all hunted and fished.  We also had a massive garden.  Since moving to Juneau, AK, I don't hunt very much but I do fish every chance I get.  I have a freezer stocked with salmon and halibut....makes cooking lean, healthy protein super easy.

1 serving Syntax Nectar (Cherry) drank after spin class

B: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 piece Oat & Nut toast

L: Salmon Burger W/ fixings, small field greens salad

D: 2 boneless, skinless baked chicken thighs, 1/2 c oven roasted potatoes

S: Light & Fit Strawberry Greek Yougurt

TOTALS: Cals:962 Protein: 99.7g Carbs: 36.5g Fat: 30.9g

Sorry to hear about your weather shenanigans, AV!
Our household (Just me and my DH) don't hunt or fish, but my DH being former Army, I am sure he would love to if given the chance! Any opportunity for him to do manly things and he's all over it!  I used to go lake fishing with my Dad (my younger brother never wanted to go) and had fun, although I never enjoyed eating the fish we caught - i'd prefer to clean and prep it and let the family eat it while I stuck to the non-fishy stuff. Thankfully as an adult I enjoy fish (provided its not too fishy tasting!).

Im a fisher/camper from way back when.  Some of my favorite memories as a kid were doing those things.  The hubby on the other hand not so much.  He does go once a year now or so to humor me, and as our son gets a little older than his current five yrs, I plan to go more often.  I am adamant he'll be a boy scout so he has those opportunities' I loved so much, the DH is more interested in him playing sports, but ill get my choice in, lol see if I don't!

" I'm going to start just not doing a very good job so he'll stop asking me. "   HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA But that is a man's job!

We fish and hunt, but not hardcore.  We fish occasionally here in Florida, and when we go to our property in North Carolina we spend most of our time fishing on our lake, and mornings during the season are spent hunting deer.  We throw back the small ones, we only kill bucks with 3 points or more on each antler, and we eat everything we kill.  2 years ago my daughter got to go on her first hunt.  She didn't get a deer but she got a big ole rabbit, and we had an amazing time cooking it that night.  Since then she has killed 2 deer, and 4 more rabbit.  We have a troublesome bear on the property sometimes, and one day I will get him.  (the county is also looking for him)  If we get him I can't wait to fill the freezer with that meat!!  and a new rug for the farmhouse.  :)

Time since surgery: 7 weeks

B: Premier protein shake

L: Lite spam slices

D: Tuna salad

S: Cashews

Totals:  Cals: 510  Protein: 60  Carbs: 14  Fat: 26  Sugar:  2

Water is started, patches are on.  We are going to go for a walk tonight for exercise.
