Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Yes, it is wrong to be eating 8 ounces at 2 months out. You should be measuring your portions. What type of food can you eat 8 ounces of?

Soft taco? Tortilla and all? Cereal? How far out are you? If you are eating processed white carbs, you will feel hungrier than if you just eat dense protein. Skip the cereal and tortillas if you are eating them and just eat protein first...it should keep you feeling full longer.

Anyway, regardless of how far out you are..you need to always measure your food and NOT eat more than that even if you feel like you want to eat more. If you are eating the correct types of food...your pre-measured portions will be enough.

You need to measure everything that goes in your mouth to know just how much you are eating.  I would also get rid of the cereal and soft tacos.  The carbs in both will do you no favors in the long run.

If you keep on the path your are on your weight loss will slow right down and once the malabsorption ends eating carbs and more than you should will cause you to gain weight.  Nip this in bud now and get back to measuring things.

You want to eat dense protein first steak, chicken, fish, nothing with a breading on it.  Beef jerky, yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna or chicken salad.  Check out eggface's blog she has a ton of amazing food choices for WLS.  eggface

What is the carb and calorie count for the cereal with 14g of protein?  Rule of thumb 1 gram of protein for every 10 calories.  So something with 100 calories should have 10grams of protein.  When looking at carbs make sure they are not more than the protein.  I try to keep my carbs under 30 a day and sugar even lower.

My plan said I could eat mashed potatoes, oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc.  Nope not going to do it.  I will be 6 months on 8/4 and I am 2lbs away from a 70lb weight loss.

I am amazed you've lost as much as you have eating these things.

Do you work with a dietician in your program?  Are these things on your plan???
