Hello!

in setting up for success for my upcoming RNY revision, I am really hoping to have my ducks lined up.  I've been looking through what everyone posts in each day's "Whats on the menu?" posts and see a lot of repeating foods.

I've been looking up a lot of them, making lists / mental notes of items to try. If you would recommend 3 items to a newbie, what 3 would they be?  (for example- Beef Jerky, Premier Protein Shakes, and String Cheese might be your 3).

Premier protein shakes (I only like the chocolate), babybel light cheese and is pure vanilla protein powder for my coffee (makes it taste like a latte. Ok, two more... Sugar free chocolate pudding and SF Popsicles. I'm 6 months out and these remain my staples!

Ooh the Babybel Light Cheese isn't the spreading kind - is that the kind that is wrapped in wax?

Agreed on the Sugar-free chocolate pudding... I tried it with soy milk and it didn't take though, so I would have to buy Skim Milk instead... but might be worth it.

Thanks for the ideas! Taking more notes!!

The babybel is the kind in wax and there is a light version that i can only seem to find at Costco.  I've found it satisfies more since it's a solid cheese rather than a spreadable one. Good luck!!

I found some today at Walmart in the deli area (right next to the spreadable cheese)! They are delicious! Thank you for the suggestion!

Immediately post op - liquids only: SF popsicles, GNC AMP protein (a less sweet chocolate which I like to this day), PowerAde Zero

Purees/Soft foods: Greek yogurt, scrambled eggs (I didn't like this stage much)

In the long run: Premier Protein shakes (cheap and easy!), rotisserie chicken (Costco - cheap and easy!), "crack slaw" as an easy, delicious main dish with no carbs! (you can google the recipe or I can find it if you'd like)

I have never heard of Crack Slaw before but it sounds good!

I was doing a cost comparison of Permier Protein shakes vs. my powder and soy milk, and making them at home comes out to about $1.12 per shake, whereas the premade ones are about $1.50-1.75. I might end up going that way for convenience if I like the flavor!
