Watermelon

would you consider watermelon a food or liquid For the purposes of the 30 minute rule? I can only eat a couple bites anyway because I'm a dumper but I don't know if I should eat it with a meal or 30 min after. I will say I do better with the dumping if it's right after my protein but if it's a liquid then I must wait. I never ever cheat on that rule.

I consider it a non-option for me.  The sugar content is SO HIGH and not worth it for as much space as it will take up.  Are you just looking for something sweet to eat?  Can you try something like yogurt so you can get protein?

Nah, I just love it lol. I really can't buy it since it would go to waste but at summer picnics I might have some. I get plenty of protein and it's really just a treat.

Its one of those things I truly miss.  Watermelon is one of my most favorite things in the world.

Since it does have some solid content, I consider it a food.

If it's a once in a blue moon thing, I wouldn't worry about it. When you get further out and the possibility of reactive hypoglycemia becomes more real, be careful of watermelon. It can do crazier things to your blood sugar quicker than just about any other fruit.

Thanks, Grim, good to know. I have this feeling I will have RH in the future considering how easily I dump. I'm not sure if there truly is a relationship but it makes sense to me that there would be. It really is once in a blue moon. At barbecues only, maybe a couple times this summer. Buying it for myself would be a ridiculous waste of money and nobody else in my family really cares for it. I've only had it once since my surgery and I was careful to only have a few bites since I knew it would make me sick if I had more.

It's great you are so careful about drinking while eating. It's more important long term than most people realize. But for the amount of times you've had watermelon, I wouldn't think twice about it.

Awww I miss watermelon.  It's the first and really only food I got nauseated eating.  Waaaaah!  :)  I'd consider it a food/solid.
