So I am sitting in front of a jar of sauerkraut!!  Yes, SAUERKRAUT.  I never thought I would like this stuff...Didn't like it pre op.  Could take or leave coffee...Now I love it (as long as it's not bitter).  Also eat poached eggs about once or twice a week.  I didn't like them poached before (also discovered pepper on many things).  Soooo, what are you eating post op that you never thought you would eat (enjoy) pre op??

Protein shakes.

I really hated them when assigned. But the people on this forum told me about unsweetened almond milk (chocolate flavored) and PB2 powder and now I LOVE my chocolate PB2 shakes (using chocolate flavored protein powder of course).  It is hot and humid here now, and I just dont want to eat hot breakfast things and these shakes have been a yummy breakfast.  Though they dont hold me well and I have to remind myself that I "ate" so I need to wait till lunch!!

I also never thought I would make the jump to almond milk or cashew milk in my coffee instead of creamer...but here I am!  Saves on calories.

Pimentos-I loved egg salad before, love what pimentos do for it !!!

Kale-pre op...only would hide a leaf or two in a green smoothie. Now, I want to make salads with it. On purpose...and kale chips too

I cant believe I forgot these.  Cauliflower- I like ti before but now I got this whole new world of cauliflower opened to me. I make cauliflower "rice" and cauliflower crusts. I really use cauliflower a lot in ways I wouldnt have normally.

Also zucchini noodles-I didnt hate zucchini before, but I thought it was just something used in buns and muffins. Now after Lady Tazz told me about a spiralizer, it is my new pasta substitute. I also like zucchini grilled!

Was wondering what brand of spiralizer you bought?  And is it easy to use?

I don't think I like any foods I didn't before but my tastes and preferences have genuinely shifted to the healthful.  For example, in my old life I could take or leave a salad and I'd almost never pick one over a slice of pizza or something.  Now I look at that pizza and, most days, think to myself, "Meh, not really feeling something that heavy," and I go eat vegetables.

Greek yogurt.  I love it with nuts for breakfast or a snack.

Yogurt of any kind. It used to be such a "nothing" food for me, no chewing satisfaction, but now I find it very filling.
