Sipping protein

I have found a protein shake I can tolerate (Premiere-chocolate), but it's in a 11 ounce container.  I portioned 4 ounces and have no problems, but between getting that in 8 more times and drinking all the water, I feel like I'm constantly putting into my stomach, and I'm worried about the 4 ounces at one time rule. I'm a rule follower😁, so I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.  Also, why isn't creamed soup considered purée? And shoukd I only be eating plain yogurt? Thanks for the help!

Hi there. I also love Premier Protein shakes. They have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. They are 11 oz drinks and have 30 grams of protein each. I drink two per day and get the extra 10 oz of protein from my food throughout the day. (I'm supposed to have 70 grams of protein a day). I'm not sure why you portion them?? I sip one in the morning and sip one in the afternoon. I had my RNY Apr 22. Those 11 oz definitely count toward your liquids too. (I am supposed to get 70 oz of liquid per day too). Hope that helps.

Ditto what Deby4fsu wrote on the protein shakes.  I have one Premier shake a day, usually for breakfast, and I sip on it from 8am until about 11:30.  I also add some cashew milk and no-cal syrups, so it ads up to 16 ounces total for me.

As for the yogurt.  For the 1st 8 weeks, my plan said I could have any flavored low-fat yogurt WITHOUT fruit at the bottom.  It had to be blended.  After that, any low-fat yogurt is okay.  I prefer the Dannon Lite & Fit 80 with only 80 cals.  Lots of fun flavors.

And my plans didn't have a "pureed" stage at all.  After 10 days I went to soft foods, and the low-fat Cream of Chicken Soup was a staple for me.  Loved it because it was creamy and sat well in my pouch, tasted delicious (again I used the unsweetened cashew milk to mix it with - only 25 cals), and easy to make.  Now I have to limit it in my diet because of all the carbs.  But I still enjoy it from time to time.  I make it with chicken breast cubes added in.
