fairly  new here and just curious what nsv stands for

Non Scale Victory

Non-scale victory, which are the things we gain by loosing - like, fitting into a smaller size of clothes, or - you were able to keep up with the kids at the park, walk the mall without having to take a sit-down break..etc.

A way of celebrating something good in our lives without being associated with a number on a scale, because life is more than just being fat or thin.

Some of my favorite NSVs - not needing a seat belt extender, better sleep at night, my bras no longer need extensions either, better movement in the shower... etc

thanks I couldn't quite figure it out. 

NSV's...freed from feeling like a prisoner, waking up rested instead of exhausted, blood pressure normal, cholesterol normal, A1C normal, jeans with zippers and belt loops, high heels, telling people in your life "sorry, it's me time."  Last night was WLS support group--a really neat member showed up in her very own Harley Davidson--it's her time.
