I began tracking on MFP when I met with the nutritionist for the first time.   I'm still a newbie, I appreciate all the advice you and the other vets give on this site.

I actually went to MFP because I'm lazy. It was either do a written food journal, or do it electronically. I went the electronic route. Sheer laziness.

Thanks Grim. As a new post op it's good for me to hear stuff like this. It's easy to think that the weight will just keep flying off and never come back.

You're one of the main reasons I've been tracking for the last 25 days in a row and it's much less painful than I thought it would be!! Definitely going to aim for 1000 days :)

Congrats to you, Grim.  I always enjoy reading your responses because they are always so honest and smart.  That's what people need to hear on this forum.  I agree that tracking is key.  It's nearly impossible to mentally keep track of an entire day or week, and easy to forget the few things you munched on here or there that end up adding up to be a lot of calories in the long run.  If can see it, track trends, etc., there's no way to fool yourself or rationalize, which is what got us all here in the first place.  Good for you!
