Finally, restriction! Hallelujah!

So I'm 2.5 weeks out and up until now, I haven't felt full at all. I realize that's not likely with liquids/purees, especially right after my nerves were cut, but I was still a little worried because I see people talking about eating 1/4 cup of food and being full, and that hasn't happened to me -- I have to just stop after I finish my measured portion and eat again an hour or two later if I'm still hungry.
Well, ground meats are on my plan's "puree" phase, so today when I went to a movie theater with in-theater meal service, I decided to try to find something on their menu I could eat. Bless their kitchen staff's hearts, they let me thoroughly *******ize an order of sliders, even subbing a little cup of hummus for the fries. Well, I got 1/3 of the way through that first tiny burger patty, and I was DONE! It was the first time I'd felt full in weeks, and I was so happy to discover that I DO still possess the ability to feel full. That little burger patty tasted like the best thing ever, and I don't even like burgers!
FAntastic! Those first bites of actual food were so wonderful, I had tears.
Every plan is so very different, I am amazed. I couldn't try any sort of burger/ground meat until the stage after purée! Good for you! And, I'm glad you are progressing so well. I feel the most restriction with the dense proteins, the kind that must be cut and chewed. I measure my 2 oz and there are times when I cannot fini**** I have eaten a bite or two too many and it's not fun. Very very painful! The restriction is real so I learned to eat those very slowly, respect the pouch :-)

Haha yes, they gave me a box, and I got 3 meals out of it, lol. Each burger patty was about 1.8 oz.
Isn't that a great feeling? I mean, it lets you know the surgery really did work. I had that aha! moment as well.
I've learned that for myself, I'll never have that old comfy feeling of being "full" ever again. Being full now is not comfy at all. I don't like it. It's UNcomfortable. It is forcing me to learn how to stop just before becoming full, which is still tricky for me... how do you know when that next bite is going to be "it"? Y'know? (I'm working on it.)
However, the big trade off (besides the awesome ability to lose weight quickly) is that I'll never really feel that "I'm so hungry I'm STARVING to death and need to stuff food in my face right now!" feeling either. It's a fair trade. Now it's like I'm not feeling so much 'hungry' as I am 'empty'... or like I know I need to fuel my body. It's hard to explain to people who haven't gone through what we have.
It feels more natural now. As in "I'm eating just to fuel my body and then I'm done"... it's wonderful! Never being stuffed full again, OR overly hungry again is fine with me.
