Happy walking!  Because those walks are so memorable, I take a celebratory walk on the same hospital floor each time I have a follow-up appointment.  I also drop off an updated thank-you note at the nurse's station letting them know how things are going.  They say they wonder about their patients a lot and appreciate it.

Hi Shiloh!  I am so happy you had a successful surgery!  I remember how discouraged you were last week or so when they could not get the airway apparatus to work.  I am so glad it worked this time.  I am sure you will be so happy as your body starts responding to your efforts.
