I'm at five months, and it has gotten so bad that I am really anticipating having to get rid of it all. I am devastated as well!

If you search on this topic you will see so many many many people lose a lot of hair.  Including me.  The doc says it will come back.  It is not forever so I will shimmy into these size 12-14 shorts and be happy that it will indeed start coming back.  I already have some baby hairs :) Have a fantastic day

Did you have to cut it?

I am 4 months out too, and my hair has also started to shed big time in the past two weeks.  My hair is shoulder length, very coarse and thick.  I am hoping that its natural coarseness/thickness will camouflage the loss.  But I am prepared to cut it short if I need to.  (I hope I do not need to!)

Make sure you are keeping your protein up too. Many people including myself take a hair skin and nail vitamin with Biotin. My surgeon feels it does help with the regrowth...not necessarily the loss.

I began loosing hair by the 4th month, by month 8 it was growing back and is of a different texture now. My hair before was very thin and kinda brittle. My "new" hair is thick and of a courser texture, but still straight....strange.....

Just keep up on your protein and water.

It happens as a result of the stress of surgery.  I shed like crazy around the same time and it went on for about 6 weeks.  I have thick hair a bit longer than shoulder length and I did not have to cut it.  I could tell that it was thinner, but no one else really could.  It's all grown back since then and it's as thick as ever.  As others said, keep up on your protein and vitamins and it will pass.  :D

Auuuughhh... I'm dreading the day.  I figure if it's going to happen it will start in the next week or so.  I'm taking my Biotin, keeping up on my protein and water (as much as I can hold without it coming back up)... but I have very thin hair to begin with.  I can't afford to lose ANY.

PS:  I started the Biotin 9 months before surgery - I wonder if the stores I built up in my body will help?
