One year out and learning to live in the skin I am in

This month marked my 1 year since RNY. I have to say in this last year I have learned so much about myself. I have hit my highs, survived my lows and have walked away stronger and healthier than I ever imagined. I have worked my booty off and am enjoying the skin I am in.

Speaking of skin I have had several people ask me "When are you having plastic surgery to remove your extra skin?" I am a very open person who loves the "surprise" factors in life so after the first time I was asked that ( and my feelings were hurt)  I have come up with the perfect comeback. Now when people ask me that i tell them I would rather have Lasik eye surgery so I can see how dang good I look now. SHUTS THEM UP EVERY TIME!! LOL

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Funny, auntmimi!  Here's a true story that just might be another surprise factor comeback idea:

The only time every single person in attendance at our very active, very vocal support group were completely, totally speechless is when a gal shared she lays on her side in bed and plays with her loose belly skin.

LOVE the comeback.

Also, I look at the excess skin on my thighs as testiment to how far I have come. Sort of like a merit badge.

People are weird, I think some actually WANT us to have excess skin to minimize our work and accomplishment. We have a gym at work, and some older loud mouthed men were like "And so and so (a girl that I sometimes see in teh locker room) said you dont have any sagging skin." so it shows that some people were talking (either positively or negatively), someone probably said something mean (e.g. "I bet she has lots of sagging skin") and this other girl from the locker room spoke up and said "No she doesnt!"

I am proud of you and your success! You have fought the battle HARD and WON!

Most people in the general population can not say that.

A tad off topic here, but I'd be so tempted to say to those guys, "Oh really? And do YOU have anything on board that sags?"
