1 YEAR BEFORE & AFTER (PICS)

The difference a year can make. To anyone thinking about this surgery, I say go for it. This has been the best decision in my life thus far. I have no regrets. If you are afraid of losing your best friend (food), don't be. There is so much more to life. RNY has been like a key to unlocking the possibilities this life offers. It's not a cure-all, it's a tool to be used wisely. You will still have to fight your internal battles, but at least you can fight them with a healthier body. I still have ups and downs emotionally, after all, food was my comfort before. Now I have to rely on myself and my God. I still have to work on my self esteem, losing weight and looking good doesn't solve our negative self-perceptions. I still don't get asked out on dates, but hey that's not the end of the world. At least I can climb mountains, run 2.5 miles, shop in the stores I want to, and I'm healthy and strong. I've given myself the gift of a healthier, longer, better life. That's what is important.

Wow!  What a difference a year makes!

I also love you post-op style!  Those shoes!

I also like how you have gained so many positive things like being able to run, shop in the stores you LIKE, and mountain climbing. There are no mountains here that are really close but I think it would be a fun, challenging and BEAUTIFUL (especially when you get to the top) hobby!
