Just a quick question. I was craving something sweet so in my protein shake I added the splenda version of brown sugar..not a lot, maybe 1/4 a teaspoon, if that. It did the trick and it makes the shake taste a bit better.  I checked the label...zero on everything except for sugars and carbs which both are 2 grams per 1/2 teaspoon. I have no issues after I drink the shake. I am 4 months post op. Am I sabotaging myself or is this ok to add to the shake? Just wanting to make sure and get some input. Thanks

I am a newbie so not sure if that's ok or not - ask the dietician at your surgical center maybe? But I would recommend trying the Sugar Free Torani syrup in Brown Sugar Cinnamon or the Sugar Free Salted Caramel if you're lookign for that sweet "burnt caramel note" of brown sugar without havnig any actual sugar in it.

Part of it depends on whether the shake has any grams of sugar to start with. You don't want the sugars to be too high overall. For me I wouldn't worry about it as long as the overall sugars were low. The Torani/DaVInci syrups as mentioned are good, but they aren't made with stevia.
