Early stalls in weight loss

I had surgery on March 23.  I dropped 15 pounds quickly.  But I have been stuck in the same 2 pound range for two weeks.  I'm eating 700-800 calories a day and strictly following my doctor's orders.  I'm hoping this is just my body's reaction to the surgery.  I think the weight will start coming off soon, but I'm frustrated with the slow progress now.  I need to take my measurements again and look for other NSVs. Did anyone else experience a stall so soon after surgery?

I had surgery on the 23rd also and am on the dreaded 3 week stall. I'm not stressing about it, it's very common. Some people stall sooner some later but a stall is expected. Just keep plugging away and the weight will come off.

I hit a stall two weeks after my surgery.  Just stick with your plan, and the weight WILL come off.  Please be patient with yourself and enjoy the journey.

Thank God! I had surgery 3-24-15, and I was freaking out a little bit because I had only lost 2-3 lbs as opposed to the 7-8 the previous 2 weeks. I hope this next week proves better!

I had surgery in December. I hit the 3 weeks stall and stayed there for 4 weeks. It was hard and there were tears and maybe one or two pity parties about why did I have my stomach removed so I couldn't eat if I wasn't going to loose weight. I came on here and people kept telling me "stick to the plan, it will come off".. and I wanted to tear my hair out, I wanted an solution to fix this and I wanted it NOW damn it! But they are right. Just keep going, put the stupid scale away, it will break. Your body is in shock so treat it nicely. And to stop further issues later on make sure you avoid all the stuff you know you shouldn't be eating. Good luck!

WOW so many surgery twins!!!  I'm going through the same thing I had surgery on the 23rd and have lost a total of 12lbs post op at first I was like wth but then I thought to myself hey I just lost 12lbs in a little over 3 weeks... yeah I never did that before no matter what I ate or how I worked out! Just keep thinking about the long term goal. We'll get there!!!

Thanks all for the encouragement.  I have a long way to go and this is just the first of many speed bumps along my journey.  Sticking to it is the best way forward!
