The quest bars also work great for me. I haven't found one I don't like. Apple pie is one of my faves.

The only ones I have found in the almost 8 years since my surgery that taste decent are nothing but a candy bar with some protein added.  The ones that are resaonable in terms or carbs and sugar are chemical Frankensteins.

IMO, they are the a chemical gimmick food -- like "protein pretzels" -- rather than part of a long-term healthy eating plan.   I object more to the texture of protein bars than the taste in many cases.  I do keep some around as "emergency" food since I have mild hypoglycemia, though, and there are a couple of the Quest bars that aren't too bad.  They have reasonable ingredients.  The sugar alcohols in one of the lines they carry don't agree with me, and even the bars from the other line makes me feel just "icky" afterward, so I eat no more than half, even when I need to raise my blood sugar.

My suggestion is to find more natural sources of protein.
