I have tried a few and really have not found anything that I like the taste of.  Any suggestions?

I prefer protein smoothies, but I do like the Pure Protein chocolate bars

I prefer these. I buy them individually at my local Vitamin Shoppe. The calories are a little high, maybe. I only eat 1/2 of a bar at a time. They don't contain any sugar alcohols, a fact that pleases my hubby immensely!!

My favorite are Quest bars.  I like the Coconut Cashew, Chocolate Chip cookie dough, and Banana Nut muffin (reminds me of banana bread).  Good ratio of carbs/fat/calories too.  20 grams of protein each (though I only do 1/2 bar at a time).

For times I am on the go, I love Quest bars.  I love the new S'mores flavor as well as chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate brownie, and cookies and cream.  The peanut butter and jelly one is good too.  I know tastes vary greatly by person so take this with a grain of salt.

The best tasting "close to a candy bar" bar I recently discovered and only have as a treat if I am really unable to eat real food is Pure Protein Chocolate Salted Caramel.  I have never found them in a store, but all of the bars I mention can be found on netrition.com which is a great site, with free shipping if your order is over $50, and the stuff arrives in two days.

Just wanted to add that shipping isn't always fast from netrition; I tried it for the first time and it took about nine days :) But they do have a lot of cool stuff. And I agree on the PBJ Quest bar. But I'm not convinced Quest bars are great for us and regard them more as emergency purse/car food.

I wonder if netrition is based close to DC and that's why we get it in two days?  Sorry that wasn't your experience :(

I agree - I don't choose Quest bars over having chicken salad or turkey and cheese or shrimp or something that is actual food (not a formed mound in a package) if I can help it - but it's awesome in a pinch :)  I have heard that they overstate their protein and understate their carbs, but I have found that while traveling or if I am at our office where they bring lunch in and there are no options for me, Quest it is! :)

That's interesting that they may be overstate the protein and understate the carbs.  Wonder how they get by with that, if it's true.  I do like them especially the S'more, Cookie Dough and Coconut Almond.  I usually get mine at GNC because they have them buy 3, get 1 free.  Lately though they leave an aftertaste.  I love Kind bars but they are higher in carbs than I like.

I like the taste of Think Thin bars but they too leave me with a yucky feeling.  Atkins bars are delicious but they contain soy and I'm allergic to soy.

Quest bars are easily my favorite.  I have one for breakfast 6 days a week.
