Can Anyone who has had an ulcer please tell me What it felt like.and how it was treated....I think I may have one. Thanks in advance.

I think I have a hernia and I'm doing the same 'ol thing I did in my former life-----putting off getting it taken care of ----sound somewhat familiar?

My symptoms ranged from severe, gnawing hunger pains, to waves of nausea and a crampy type of pain. It sometimes felt like something was trying to claw its way out of my chest cavity. I would have attacks that lasted anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 or 4 hours.

I have been experiencing this. I thought it was too much coffee and stress from EOQ.

Now, I am thinking I had better go see someone!

I felt stuff like that too when MO. Eating would make it go away. Man, I wonder..

My symptoms were very similar they treated me with Prilosec 20 mg 2x a day and Carafate 1 g 4 x a day and it works great! Definitely see your surgeon about it, an ulcer is no joke and can be terribly painful!

I had seen my surgeon...I forgot to mention that, sorry. I'm also on Prilosec 2x/day and Carafate 4x/ day.  Ulcers are painful, I agree! 

Every time I eat or drink I get bad pain. Sometimes the food comes up. I can only take Maybe 3 bites before the pain starts and I could cry it hurts bad!

You definitely want to talk to your Dr. about it! It could be something simple but it is always better to be safe than sorry!
