I understand all that feeling! I two had to do the 6 months of supervised diet instruction. That wait was the longest and I was nervous the whole time scared I would not get approved. I was afraid if I lost to much they would not approve me. So, I had to play the numbers game. Not gain but not loss much....it was very nerve wrecking to me. I was so relieved when my insurance said I was approved. I just had my Surgery 3/10/15 Hang in there, you will get there too!!!

Thanks for the encouragement I needed some so much. I think the supervised diet was the hardest thing I have had to do. What type of insurance do you have?

I have highmark BlueShield. Which is  part of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. We probably have one of the best coverage out there currently.

Totally understand that feeling!  Bundle of nerves for the entire last month of my program and through the weeks waiting for approval. It took several weeks of back and forth before I was finally approved by insurance, but it happened for me and it will happen for you! You just need to stay calm, stay focused, follow your program closely, meet all the program requirements. And remember, you're worth the time and investment!

Your so right an. It  just feels like it takes forever. Why did it take so long for you to get approved? What insurance do you have?

I'm covered by Aetna.  My my surgeons office made a mistake in the original submission, which caused a little delay in review.  And then the case manager in Aetna was out sick (that's ironic!) which caused another short delay.  Both short blips felt like mountains.  But I just remained a polite but constant presence in my surgeon's coordinators professional life, calling and reminding and just generally being my own advocate.  You will get through it!

I have Aetna also , I heard it takes so long to get approved. Some people say its a difficult insurance to have.

I have Aetna and from time they received the request for the surgery to time approved was less then 24 hours.  NO hassle from them at all.  Actually they've called to see how I am doing (nurse case manager)
