So Thirsty After Eating
What always helped me was having something cold and wet with my meal. For example, cottage cheese, mandarin oranges. That helped a lot. Not drinking after meals is one of the hardest parts. You will get used to it! It takes awhile, but don't give up. Also, find something to do after eating and soon you will forget about it. Chewing gum also helps.
I have found that it's a very difficult habit to break. I did the majority of my drinking (non alcoholic) with my meals so it's another head game to overcome. But I do it!!! Keep trying.

I've been working on this since January - I'm pre op with surgery schedule 4/6. I'm glad I started early because it's so hard to break this habit! If there is anything to drink on the table and in reach, it's reflex for me to grab it. But even pre op I found that, when is wait the 30 minutes, I stay full for so much longer. It's worth the effort. So I started setting a timer on my phone after meals. And then I get up and do something else to get my mind off thirst. Doing the dishes is a great use of time but it does put you dangerously close to water! LOL :-)
It was much more difficult than I thought it would be, but it's really necessary. The most common issue for those with significant regain is drinking with meals.
You are trying to break a lifelong habit, so it will be hard. It does get much easier once you get used to it.

To help with my mouth dryness after eating - i may rinse my mouth with warm water, or brush my teeth, or if all of that does not work - chew one stick of gum for a few minutes..

I get on the computer right after I eat. It keeps my brain occupied and next thing I know- I can drink! Then I go downstairs and do the dishes - heavy sigh
