Excellent article. I hope you can find a resolution to your blood loss issue. Can you get your iron infusions more frequently to decrease the "roller coaster" affect you have with your ferritin levels?  Since my rny, I've been adjusting my iron doses up when I got my levels drawn. Now I'm taking 420 mg iron (carbonyl w/C) to increase my Ferritin to at least a mid-range level.

pghgirl has really been struggling with anemia issues.  I hope she sees this post.  Perhaps Kelly, you might have a lot of good insight to help her.

I was a very heavy bleeder. I had endometrial abblation.  That really helped me.  It may not resolve all your blood loss isdue, but it may help just enough.

An ablation would help the fibroids, but irritate the adenomyosis, and it could end up making things worse. My only option is still only a partial hysterectomy and my IV is not in favour of Another surgery for me yet. I was just put on Estrogel and I haven't had any bleeding for two weeks but starts again today. This is the first time I had a set of three infusions since the IUD was inserted, and I'm hoping that maybe it will be sustained with the Feramax and the less blood loss. We shall see!
