Tips: How to Combat Constipation & Great Bariatric Ap!
Oh trust me I don't have any sort of eating disorder...just IBS and surgery and all made it worse. I use to use the gummies before surgery but I cant use them yet and docs told me if I went so many days without going even with taking benefiber and a dose of Miralax that I needed to flu**** out some way.
Hate to hear that! I have had three really really bad times in the restroom so I started taking that benefiber earlier this week but I still wasn't going so I saw someone post to take the tea since it wasn't nasty and didn't upset their stomach. I will be fine now that everything is softer...I'm just afraid of becoming septic or backup.
I use miralax on a regular basis. It works really well and mixes right into my water No cramping, no quick running to the bathroom. It is now part of my daily routine. just a capful in 8 oz of water and smooth going. And I try to get in 80-100 oz of water every day. Good luck.
i guess many of us on this site try to give the best advice we can without being judgy but sometimes, we go there when we see "trigger" words that get us concerned. That's all.
So like most of you I struggled with constipation after surgery... Well I have finally found what works for me.
1. Take Benefiber with your 3 meals a day (it mixes right in with drinks or pureed type foods)
2. Drink "Smooth Move Tea" when/if needed ( You can get it at walgreens and it tastes great!)
I had no issues like cramping or pain with the tea or #2.
***NOTE I have only taken this tea ONCE and it helped me...but I AM NOT recommending it as a way to make yourself go to the restroom everyday!!! Check with your doctor***
Great App for reminders!
It's called Bariatric App. You set it up to your times in between meals and snacks and then now long you have to wait after eating to drink and how long you have to wait before eating after drinking.
It's great thus far.
Hope you find these tips helpful!

Boy, this got ugly. OP I'm sorry you got attacked and accused of being sick.
I use benefiber 2X daily and I love it and I'm afraid to stop it yet as I can't consume enough fiber in my protein focused diet at this point. I was horribly constipated about 2 weeks post surgery and benefiber daily is on my recommendations as are many other options. I'm glad this is working for you

Let's be honest. You did go back and edit your original post. The problem is, with fresh post ops, like yourself, they come on here looking for advise. You claim you found the smooth move in someone's post and you ran out and got it. You were given dangerous advise. You didn't consult your doctor for yourself but you put it on here as a lifesaver for constipated people without understanding the complications you could cause for people. Many of us have been around a long time and see this all the time and we know the damage that can be done. Now with all of your stated medical problems I wouldn't put anything in your mouth without consulting with your doctor. You could hurt yourself.
Early constipation is a terrible thing. It turns into a cannonball in there and you struggle with it..we have all been there. A gentle laxative will help you but use only as needed. Also you will starting adding good fats to your diet like egg yolks and olive oils and even butter,,,that will help you become more regular...
