Nose Tingle

My nose tingles, itches, and sometimes drips/runs. It also causes my eyes to water at times. I did not have it before surgery at all... Just noticed it immediately afterward and much of the time since. I don't know if this is common with surgery, or if it's just good ol' spring allergies. I usually don't have allergies affect me quite this way, though. Anyone else notice this after surgery?

Yes. Especially while I eat. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with a nerve, the vegus??

You know, I remember reading about that now that you mention it. I'm on an ipad so I can't easily search this forum, but I did find a few things on it. I sure hope it goes away!

Thanks!

I am 2 yrs post op and it still happens to me.  I have deduced it to a couple of factors.  1.  Eating too fast and 2. eating too much.  It it my tell tell as to when I have gone overboard and have to make myself slow down.

I recently looke more into it also. I read that with that nerve being severed some can't throw up anymore. On Mother's Day I overdid it a bit and felt like I had to vomit. My mouth started watering really bad and I tried and tried to vomit and nothing would come up. It was actually intense. I guess this is something that I will have to discus with my surgeon when I see him next. If I ever see him again, I see the PA's now when I have my labs done.

I can't throw up either, just wish I could.  The mouth watering thing is what I think of as the foamies.  I get that sometimes if I overate or something just doesnt agree with me (usually chicken or pork)

Yes, yes, my nose drips every single day--worse in the a.m. and while eating.  Sounds silly, but I was figuring it had to do with unclogging my nasal passages from fat!  I will add "runny nose" to my list of questions for an upcoming six-month post-op WLS appointment.  Thank You.
