Good for you!! I made it through the holidays too -alive anyway.  I ate more crap than I should ever admit!! I do not dump on ANY treats either so I went crazy - Ok crazy does not have the same meaning as it used to, but I still know I went overboard!! My Bday is the 7th and I have a wake and funeral to attend this weekend so starting Monday I am going to do liquids for 3 days - to help me carb detox and get back on track of getting in enough protein again.

Woot woot on your 70 lbs!! You are doing incredibly well!

Topic: Happy SurgAnniversary To Me.
Wow, I have to tell you this year went by so fast and it has been an amazing journey for me. I feel great and the weight just fell off and I feel HEALTHY!!!

I am so grateful to Dr. Pohl for giving me my life back and for all the wonderful support I have had along the way. I don't think I would have been this successful without all my OH friends and the support group meetings. Jules a special Thank you to you for all that you do for me and everyone you've been in contact with since you yourself start your journey.

I haven't been any any meds in a long time now. My last med I was taken was protonix for acid reflux and when I finished the script I was taken off of that. I no longer have sleep apnea and my breathing has improved once I started taken down the weight.

My only regret is that my friend Terry passed away 1 month after my surgery and wasn't able to see me through my journey. I know she is truly "My Angel" watching over me and giving me support from above. I love and miss her dearly but I know she is proud of what I have accomplished.

Looking forward to "2010"

Thanks Again Everyone

Hi Annie,

You are not supposed to lift anything for 4 weeks!! Laundry baskets are tough and you probably feel the tender muscles that haven't healed. Lifting a small object that is 5lbs or less is no problem, but the larger the mass and weight the bigger the problem.

I was sore for 6 weeks so bee very careful!!

Topic: I made it through the holidays!!
Hi friends,

We, I sure am glad the holidays are over!! I did pretty well, but found the lack of structured days difficult to manage. I did keep up with working out which help make up for a little extra grazing.

I tried some wine and that seemed to go well. A little extra snacking at parties and family functions, but I managed to make it out and lose weight.

Thanks for all of the support and see you at next Living Life meeting!

PS. 70 lbs today!!!!

Topic: How long to lift things,
Hi everyone,  Just a quick question.  How long are you supposed to wait to lift things.  It has been 2 1/2 weeks and I tried to lift the laundry basket.  I think I hurt myself.  Thought I felt good enough.  I am not sure if I pulled something or I am just sore.
Thanks
Annie

Topic: RE: Lap Band vs. Realize Band
Well if your looking into doctors check out the doctors at RI hospital.  I personally had Dr. Roye and he also has a partner Dr. Ryder.  They work through University Surgical Associates.   I've heard nothing but good about both and of course Dr. Roye is awesome with me.

I also found this link to help compare the bands:

Which is also listed above.

Hope this all helps.

Oh that's wonderful. I thought there were only meetings once a month the first week of each month.  With my schedule this will be much better!
