Topic: RE: protein shakes
Congrats on your surgery & welcome to the Loser's Bench! I've been using powdered protein...EAS Chocolate (23g protein) from BJ's and Costco's Vanilla (made my Muscle Milk, 27g protein)...I'll use plain water or Crystal Light Orange w/the Vanilla, and I also use cold decaf coffee w/1/2 scoop of each w/an ounce of SF Ice Cream to make a "frozen latte"...the bags are $23-27 (5-6# & 75-80 servings), so the they are quite cost effective. Costco also has a "Premier" brand pre-made chocolate shake 11oz, 30g protein that is quite good...15 pack for around $25 I think.
You can also find a lot of stuff on-line, just google protein shakes...tons of options....I'm waiting till I finish what I have before buying more! LOL
Hope that helps!
James

Topic: protein shakes
Hi,
I need to switch up my protein shakes. I really like the peach mango from the Dr's office, however, I find it quite expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which kind to try and where to purchase inexpensive, nutrional protein shakes?
Thanks,
Cjuni

I am so excited, had my surgery on 1/31, seeing Dr. Giovanni on 2/14 for post-op check and first weight since bypass. A few friends say they see a difference in my face, but I don't and is it really possible after only 2 weeks?
How quickly has other people seen weight loss????

Topic: RE: Left shoulder pain- causes? remedies?
I never had it, but I recall reading that it is surgical gas, and can take a while to get out of your system. Walking around helps, as does flapping you arms like they are wings (as it was described).
There is a lapband board here on OH. You might want to post the question there to see if anyone can help. It's under forums, surgical, lapband.
Good luck to you!

Topic: Left shoulder pain- causes? remedies?
I had lapband one week ago yesterday. I keep having pain in my left shoulder. Initially it seemed to be gas pains and other times I thought maybe an indicator of eating too much but now even after eating a 1/4 cup of food I'm getting it sometimes much later after eating sometimes right away. I don't feel gasy otherwise.
Anybody else have this? what causes it? What helps?
Thanks!

Congrats on 2 years!!!
Try changing up you exercise plan if you are in a rut with it! Its so hard to reinvent the wheel, but it may be time for some changes. Also, have you gone to the nutritionist lately to see what else you can do,'
These sound like obvious questions, but i hope they can help.
anyways Congrats!!!!

Topic: RE: Hitting a Wall
Great advice James!
Just get back at it. Look ahead, don't dwell on past mistakes.
I also suggest keeping a food journal, see where your intake is at. Then you can see where you need improvement.

I hate hitting walls... it's so discouraging....
I was forced into exercising because of all the bloat and gas I experienced... and the exercise did actually work to get rid of gas AND move the needle on the scale downward....
I am happy now that due to my new need to move around, I can wear the next size smaller clothing... that's encouraging!
Keep up your good work!!
