Hello Everyone!!!
I am curious about the pre-op 2 week shake diet. Any idea how much it will cost? I get it right from my surgeons office, right? Or do I purchase them somewhere else?
Any insight would be appreciated!!!

How old are you?
I am getting all kinds of unwanted advice too. My mother in law said" but we LOVE food" No crap! Thats why I am this way. lol
You have to do what's in your heart. My friend had bypass and has 2 beautiful boys. She has not returned to pre-op weight.
Nobody can live in your body and feel what you are feeling. Do what's best for YOU!!!!

Topic: Too Young??
Hello Everyone!
I have been looking into WLS for the past year, my father had Gastric Bypass in 2008, and I feel this is a great path for me to take.
I've been getting a lot of negative feedback from friends and family saying that I am too young to make such a life altering change.
Opinions please!! What do you guys think?
ALSO:
For the ladies; after WLS, will I still be able to conceive a child and not start back at square one with gaining weight and becoming big again??
Any input would be great!!
Thanks, Kaila

Topic: Dr. Sax
Hi, everyone,
I had surgery with Dr. Harry Sax four years ago. He's no longer affiliated with Miriam Hospital, and I was wondering if anyone knows where he's gone?
Thanks.

Topic: almost 2yrs out
hi everyone... its been so long since i've utilized this website, as well as attended any meetings...with that said, i am happy to be back!
i am one week shy of my 2 yr anniversary, and have lost 140lbs.
i have maintained my current weight for the last year.
i , like so many of you may have experienced, hit a plateau...i know what i need to do, but being honest..i have slacked!
let me be the first but not last to say....i need to get back into the groove!
i am noticing in the past month, i am not following through ...so i could really use some help..like going back to the basics!
any and all input is appreciated! hope to hear from you, and see you at a meeting soon!
thanks

Topic: Protein Shake Samples
There were quite a few newbies at Ellie Collin's 6-7:30 Suport Group Meeting last night at RWMC and as promised, here's a small list of Protein Samples you can send away for...
Aslo, please attend one of the other many groups that Julie Nolan coordinates as part of "Living Life" bariatic support groups hosted at RWMC...you can see the schedule on her recent posting down one or two on this forum...the posting also includes listings for West Warwick, South County, RI Hsopital & Miriam Hospital.
If anyone else has other suggestions, PLEASE post them here for everyone to see! If you have some great recipes, here's a good place to share them too...I'm going to add some information later (don't have time-late for work!) from Performance Nutrition in Seekonk (Job Lots plaza) I picked up yesterday, they will also give you a scoop or two to try different products, and they usually have a couple flavors that they'll mix up for small samples right at the desk.
Nectar Syntrax We are currently offering a one time only, limit one per person special on the Nectar ‘Variety Sampler’ containing 13 full serving packets of the following flavors: Apple Ecstasy, Caribbean Cooler, Crystal Sky, Fuzzy Navel, Lemon Tea, Pink Grapefruit, Roadside Lemonade, Strawberry Kiwi, Twisted Cherry, Chocolate Truffle, Strawberry Mousse, Vanilla Bean Torte and Latte Cappuccino.
