Topic: RE: Does everyone go home with a drain?
The drain is to decrease fluid build up in the surgical area.I came home with a drain and it was removed yesterday...yay!!! It doesn't hurt it just gets in the way and is a bit unsightly. I've also had drains post breast surgery so they are used in different types of surgery. Good luck tomorrow, you'll be in my thoughts for an uneventful surgery and recovery!~~~~~~~~~~Kim

I had my surgery on a Tuesday morning and was discharged Friday morning. I had no issues at all.

Has anyone answered this yet?? I wondered the same thing. I figured maybe it's a drain to keep from getting an infection in the portion of the stomach. I am clueless on this.

Topic: RE: Has Anyone Tried These?.....Profect Protein Beverage

Thanks for the recommendation, Romeo.  I am looking for different varieties besides my chocolate fudge EAS AdvantagEase.

I'm going to get a variety pack and see what ones I like.

Topic: RE: When can I try Salads???
You should be at least 10 weeks out in my opinion and make sure to chew, chew, chew.  My Nut suggested that I try a really crunch lettuce first like endive to see how it went.  As long as that goes well and you chew well you should be ok.

I had Dr. Giovanni, same office as Dr. Pohl, and I never had a drain.  I don't know why some do and some don't.  But its only temporary anyway.  So no need to fret!   Take care!   Eldy

Hi Marcia!
3 days means that if you tolerate the water and no nausea, then you go home on Friday.  But if you have you some nausea, they will probably keep you one more day.  Just to make sure everything is good.   Good Luck and be well!  Eldy
