That's my next goal....getting rid of that 'morbid' part.  It's so depressing to read that word, isn't it!?

Congratulations on your weight loss!  Keep it up....er, down....er....you know what I mean!!!

Wow! great advice Eldy! Thanks I'm gonna use it too!  Im just over a week away from my RNy and am starting to feel that anxiety twinge!  Still havent found the protein shakes I like other than the low carb slim fast, and will buy some of the powder you suggested as soon as I can get my butt to walmart.    My other friend said the carnation instant b-fast is a good one too.  I have to find other ...different things so I dont get bored with the shakes...
But I loved the advice about the cell phone alarm and the steno pad!  Cathy

Protein Peanut butter bars     3 cups dry old fashioned oatmeal
4 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup bran
1/4 cup golden flax seeds (you want to buy the meal "crushed seeds")
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (I use a full teaspoon)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (I use 3/4 cup of peanut butter)

mix together the dry ingredients first
add milk and PB, stir for two minutes
spread mixture out in 9 x 13 pan
sprinkle with Splenda
refrigerate
divide into 8 (you could adjust this too)

approx 325 calories/bar (more if you add nuts)
14 grams protein
10+ grams fiber

I really enjoy these and TRUST me they will help you GO...my advice try one at home or night before bed...just to see how it effects your system...would hate for you to be at work running back and forth...just my .02

Hi Andrew!  It sure sounds like you know what you're doing.  I totally agree with you that going to the informational meetings is very important.  Its an important surgery and you really need to know what your getting yourself into.  Surgery is not for everyone.  But it is a life saver for others (me - for one).  What I like is how you are going to all the surgeons meetings.  I was recommended one, and never even heard of the others when I was looking into this.  If I had, I would have gone to all of them too.  Don't get me wrong, I love my surgeon, but knowledge is power!  And the more you know the better the decision can be.  Good luck to you and let us know which surgeon you pick.  We don't have any preference here.  We all have different ones and rally together as WLS lifers!   Take care, Andrew!    Eldy
