It was nice to meet and talk with you too!!  I really love Heather and all that she has to discuss and the meeting made me realize that I don't think when I eat. I'm learning!!

I agree with Eldy, next month's meeting sounds really interesting.  I know that I will need some type of P.S. so this will be another step in my process.

See you soon!

Hi Yolanda!  Its good that you're researching different options.  The more you know the better the decision is for you.  I found a website that you  may find interesting.    www.clos.net    its about the difference between GB and MGB.
Also just so you know...  When I started this process I was going to have the lapband.  I did all the testing and everything.  I had gotten approval for it by the insurance co.    Then I decided to have the GB instead.  When I went to my 2nd appt with the surgeon, I told her the change.  They had to send everything back out to the insurance company and get approval for the GB.  Approval is for only the surgery that is requested.  This added another month to my surgery date.   I just want you to be prepared for that.
Plus, make sure the surgeon does the MGB surgery.  I don't think they all do it ( i could be wrong on that too).
Good luck!  I hope the website helps you. And be sure to let us know how it goes and what you pick to do!   Eldy

Hi Yolanda,
I have seen that mini gastric bypass but I'm not sure what the difference is either. You should probably ask your surgeon. I was curious about a few different procedures so I went down the list of surgeons in Rhode Island and just started calling thier office to ask if they perform the procedure.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Hugs, Tiffany

Topic: Back on my journey
It looks like I'm getting back in the game. Dr. Sax FINALLY turned my paperwork in to my insurance company and he asked that it go straight to a Bariatric Surgeon for approval. I think this is the stage 2 part of the approval process. My health issues are being sorted out and so far everything is moving along. Now I just have to see if I get my approval or do I get caught up in an appeal process. Please keep me in your prayers. My co-morbities are coming out of the woodwork and I really need this surgery. I'm so proud of all of you and your accomplishments, I just can't wait to get my spot on the bench.  I WILL get there!
Hugs to everyone,

Tiffany
