Topic: First fill ?'s
Hey all,

Had my first fill today and was surprised at how PAINLESS it was!  I didn't even know the needle was in:)  I drank a cup of water while there and it went down fine.  I do notice now that when drinking it kind of "bubbles" its way down.  I don't feel "stuck" but I feel like I have to swallow a lot.  Is this normal??  I definitely feel a difference with restriction and have been full!  Something I haven't felt since before surgery:)

Thanks!

Jess

Hi!  Good luck with all your testing, once I finished all my pre-op stuff for the realize band I was scheduled for surgery within a month.  For some it's a quick process, and for others it seems to take some time.  I had blue cross for insurance and it took about 4 weeks to get approval.  Any questions feel free to ask...this site is great for answers and support!!

Topic: Lap Band with Dr. V
Hello everyone,

I had my initial meeting/consultation with Dr. V and his staff today.  After considerable discussion and due to some pre-existing medical conditions, it seems as if my best option is Lap Band versus the Gastric Bypass.  Now its been a few hours since I have had the opportunity to let the news sink in, I am pleased.  I originally wanted Lap Band but didn't think I necessarily qualified so I tended to focus more on GB.

So, now that Lap Band is the direction we are headed, I would be interested in talking to folks who have had Lap Band, especially those who have had Dr. V as a surgeon.  Just to compare notes, etc.

In addition, it seems as if this may occur rather quickly.  I have already had my Sleep Study, done the medical supervision diet plan, and all the labwork.  All that remains is the appointment with the Nutritionist, the Stress Test, and the Psych Eval which are all scheduled the week of July 6th.

Can it really be this easy?  The process rather, you know...appointments, insurance approval, surgery dates, etc.

Andrew

Congratulations Jamie!!!!!

You are doing wonderful.  I always have a reason not to go to a meeting but I will attend the next becuase I really would love to meet everyone.

I passed one year also recently.  I was on vacation so it really wasn't on my mind.  I am so afraid that I gained while I was away (way too much fun in the sun) that I am afraid to get on the scale.  I realize after reading your post that I must be accountable and I will force myself to do this tomorrow.   I have been struggling with many issues since I came back but I have been exercising so I hope the scale won't be so hard on me.

Dr. Roye was also very pleased with my progress and it felt really good to hear that.

Congratulations again!!! and I hope to meet you soon.
