Thank you SO much for getting back to me..the 6 month thing must be for my plan..Im about 3 months in on the dietician program. I'll be sure to tell my PCP to document the 5 years and not just write the letter. Thank you again :)
Topic: To alcohol or not to alcohol...
The question is... I'm ready to drink some alcohol or am I?
I know after RNY you can't drink much alcohol (i hear a couple of sips and your pretty much done), but how long do you have to wait to have any alcohol? With the 4th of July coming up, I'd like to know if its ok to have a couple of sips or not. Any ideas oh wise OH'ers?

I have aetna as well. In order dor them to approve my surgery, they requested 5 year medical documentation of my weight and a 3 month supervised diet. They don't want a letter from my pcp stating that I did it, but actual medical records. Good luck and you can message me if you have anymore questions,

Jaime ~ Happy Surgiversary! Amazing what you've accomplished in a year's time.
Agree with you that it is hard when trying not to fall back into our old habits of eating. Know this is something I'm still relearning too.
Congratulations on your success and healthy wishes as you continue on this journey!

Topic: Anyone have AETNA Insurance?
I have AETNA insurance through my employer..just recently changed. Their help department indicates that they are not qualified to answer questions that they all must be directed to my Surgeon and as Dr Ryders office has been EXTREMELY helpful Im petrified that after going through everything that the Ins company requires I may get denied. Anyone have any experiences with Aetna Insurance? or issues with them? Thanks

Topic: RE: 2 1/2 months out,and doing ok
Hey there! congratulations on your success! What I do when I don't know how long it will be before I can eat something that right for me, I carry an Atkins Protein Bar with me ( smores flavor is my favorite) It has ( I blieve) 15 grams of protein. I can eat usually 1/2 and be full. At least that will hold me over until i can get some real food in.
