Topic: RE: Syntrax Nectar Proteins
Hi Andrew,

I get my protein drinks and all my vitamins from a place in Dartmouth MA. I don't know how far you want to travel. I frequently go to Trader Joes in Warwick so to me that is not a bad commute. The place is called Faunce Corner Nutrition. They have all kinds of samples. My favorite protein drink is Syntrax 5.0 Cookies and Cream. They also sell all the Bariatric advantage vitamins and well as fusion vitamins. You can also order the stuff online and when you get there it will be all ready for you.

Good Luck

Sue

I have had a couple drinks in the last year since my surgery.  I  can't drink a lot.  As Chip put it I am a easy drunk now. lol...   I would try your 1st drink at home to see how it would effect you.  this way if you act silly it is in your own home or if you get sick on that one drink it is in your own home.  I know New Years Eve  I had 1 drink and wow I turn into a funny drunk.  I was happy and loving everyone I saw.  Now I can drink now and then and I am fine from it.  Just stay away from the stuff that is high in sugar.  That I find make me sick fast.

Topic: RE: Lap Band with Dr. Roye
Because Dr. Roye is very thorough, the testing does take some time. It's been a while since my surgery. Um, going on year number three in a few days! Wow! But if I recall, I'd say six weeks sounds about right. Dr. Roye did not require a pre-op diet for me, but everyone is different. I was 299lbs the day of surgery, My best weight was 139, but I've gained a few pounds since I had to have a hysterectomy in September. Gotta love the hormones! I'm working on it this summer, but I tend to fluctuate between 149 and 156. Still totally beats the crap outta nearly 300lbs!

Hey Mimi,

Dr. Roye did my by-pass, but also does the band. I just love his beside manner, but you gotta be a fan of dry humor. I think he's a riot. It doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eye too. I have to agree that he is extremely thorough. I had a blood condition that I never knew about until I met him when I was 46 and he did a super thorough set of exams. He is extremely attentive through the whole process, at least that was my experience. When I had a problem with one of the interns at RIH, he gave him the business right quick! I've heard nothing but great things about all the surgeons in his group - University Surgical Associates. I think your sister would be in good hands whomever she goes with.
