Thank you all for replying to my thread and letting me know what you think of him as a surgeon and a person! I feel pretty good going into this! It seems as though I am makeing a wise choice by going through Dr. Pohl.

Topic: Hi y'all! I'm back..
Hi Y'all! I am back from Tennessee! We had a great time. The weather was really good and NO MISQUITOS!! I've already been bitten since I have been back. ugh! We did have fun. We went to Eastern Tennessee and went to Dollywood and Dixie Stampede for the dinner show. This was my first vacation away after surgery. It wasn't as hard as I expected, but it was challenging. I took a lot of Atkins protein shakes. Enough for at least one a day and I took alot of babybel (light) cheeses too. They are my favorite snacks. So on the drive down ( yes we drove) I have snacks to munch on and of course my water ( with some flavors to pour in ). The hardest part was eating at restaurants. I am used to taking the left overs home, but on vacation you really don't want to do that. But I did my best. I also did alot of walking too. But all in all, I am glad to be back with my friends. I have missed you all. I missed the meeting last week. I will be at the next one. Been reading the board and sounds like everyone is doing pretty good! Awesome! Y'all take care now, ya hear! Hi there! I did not have Dr. Pohl. I had Dr. Giovanni ( from the same office, love her!) but I have to say that when I go to the office for something and Dr. Pohl is there, he has been very personable and has asked how I am doing and all. And I am NOT his patient. I think that says alot about a person. Good luck and hope to see you at the support meetings. You do not have to have already had the surgery to go to the meetings. Its a great place to get information from those that "had been there, done that" ALL are welcome! Alot of us on this board go. Ask Jules for more information. Take care! Eldy

I had Dr. Pohl and so did my Husband. You could not trust your life with anyone better. He is my Angel. He changed my world with doing gastric bypass on my 4/2008 and just did the band for my husband in 5/2009. Now we are both getting healthy and gonna live a long life. You made a good choice in Doctors I think. Best of luck and welcome to the looser bench.
