That is awesome news, Liza!   I will be saying my prayers that everything moves quickly towards surgery for you!  I know how long this has been for you.  I have kept you in my thoughts and prayers all this time.  What a relief!  I am REALLY glad you heard from them first.  That means alot!  Keep us posted!   Congrats to you!  Eldy

Thanks to everyone for listening to me rant and rave lately over this! Hopefully I will actually have my surgery one day and I can finally shut up about all my issues, LOL

Anyway, yesterday I went to my endocrinologist and he wrote me a note for Dr. Giovanni that basically said that my current thyroid status was "not counterindicative to surgery". Which in English I guess means  that from his perspective I can move ahead with rescheduling. Woo hoo!

I faxed that note over to Dr. G's office yesterday and surprisingly enough, they actually called me this morning to set up an appt, even before I had a chance to follow up with them!! Very nice! Soooo....I have an appt with Dr. G for 10/14 and hopefully at that visit she will tell me whether or not we are ready to reschedule surgery. Since my birthday is 10/11, this would be a great birthday present!!!

I am thinking that since they usually schedule about 4 weeks from when you are ready, I could potentially be looking at mid-late November. Hopefully for sure by the end of the year! This whole thing has been a 5 month detour, but if I can get this taken care of by the end of 2009, I will still be a very happy camper!!!

Fingers crossed!!!

Liza

Congrats, Brian!

It will be here before you know it!  Just remember to take it easy after surgery, especially since you are expecting an open procedure!

Good Luck and there's a spot on the Loser's bench for you...I'll have it polished off and adding your name!

I've heard nothing about it, but now you have me curious.  My first thought is why would you want to have residents performing plastic surgery (under the auspices of a surgeon, I would guess)?  Wouldn't you want someone with refined skills and years of experience?  Or, am I all wet?
