Topic: RE: Miriam Experience
I had my Realize band "installed" by Dr. V at Miriam back in May of this year.  I have no complaints at all about my experience.  The only thing that actually is a little funny about my time there is that all the nurses are these tiny little things!  I got a chuckle with the little things having to help move around and support "the heavy's".

Hi Eldy,

Have you tries turkey meatballs??? They have some great ones at Trader Joes that are frozen and flame broiled. They go down pretty easy when broken up with some sauce.

Just a thought!

Ok so I took spaghetti and meatballs for my meal to work last night. And the meatballs (2 small) got stuck.  I chewed them really well before I swallowed them and they still got stuck.  So I had to go into the bathroom and "get rid of them".  I don't know if my break partner could tell what i was doing or what, but she came in to make sure i was ok.  Now thats not TOO embarrassing!   I am totally bummed that I still can't eat meatballs!  Maybe they are just too dry.  I don't know,  but i know I will probably try again in a few months.  So today I am relaxing my esophogus by drinking my protein shakes.  I haven't had that in a while and i have to say, i really enjoyed it.  I was totally surprised by that.  Ok,  thats all.  I'm done. Thanks for listening. LOL

Topic: RE: *VENT* SO MAD RIGHT NOW!!!!
So, Brian, tell us how you really feel about this!  Just kidding. Sorry, couldn't resist.   I don't blame you for being furious about this situation.  I swear sometimes the staff at these surgeons office forget that we are "people" and not just "appointments".  It would have made your life a heck of a lot easier if they had called you and let you know in advance.  But thats over with now.  Take a deep breath.  Be satisfied that you did have your say with them ( alot of people would have vented but not to the staff).  Now focus forward and prepare for the surgery.  Once that takes place this will all be history.  Just another pre-op story to tell.  One that maybe will save some poor pre-op soul the same aggrevation.  Good luck to you and let us know how things are progressing!   Take care, Brian!   Eldy

Wow Kelly jo, you are doing amazing.  Keep up the good work.  I have to say that I still can't have tomato soup.  I don't know if its the acid in it or what but it makes my stomach uncomfortable.  So i just skip it.  There are so many other things that you will be able to have.  I can have speghetti sauce though.  So when you are ready go ahead and try it. The soup does not mean you can't have anything with tomatoes in it.  Not only that, but later (like months) you can  try the soup again, and you might not have a problem.  Its all trial and error.  A continuous learning experience. But, you know, i kinda like that.  Its "adventurous"!  LOL     Take care and keep us up to date!   Eldy
