Thanks Brian! I knew someone would have the answer! I guess i thought it was more public but thats still good. It's also good that there will be familiar faces. Thanks again.

Erica, yes there is a "pre-op" teaching class.  This is scheduled for you once you get your surgery date.  You have to attend this class or they will cancel your surgery.  it lasts 2-3 hours and in the class there will be a recovery room nurse (Kellie---she ran the group at RIH you were at), the dietician/nutritionist (sue manchester, she was also at the meeting), and physical therapy (probably Megan, she was also there but didnt say much).  It is a very informative class and is usually in the morning from what I understand, at least mine was.  Went from like 8 to 11 or so.  At this meeting you will also get your final weigh in.  Hope this helps

Topic: Pre-Op Nutrition Education class?
Hi All. I went to my nutrition evaluation and she stated there is a pre-op "teaching class" for nutrition for the gastric bypass. Does anyone know if this exists?? and if so, when is it?
Thanks to all!

I would try one or two more Drs.  See what the concensus says and then make your decision.  See if you can find others that have met up with this problem.  Good luck and let us know what happens!

Hello,

I am recovering well!  I am sore, but I am moving!  Are cravings normal with lap band?  I want real food, but know I shouldn't.  Just something I can chew!

OK, so today is my one month post op "surgiversary" and according to the scale this morning at the gym I am 365 pounds.  Thats 33 pounds less that I was at my last "official" weigh in prior to surgery!!  I have posted my 1 month post op pic in my profile and I can totally see the difference!!  I cant believe the difference actually b.c I went thru like a 10 day stall where i lost like 3 pounds so overall I am thrilled beyond belief!!
